March 5th, 2008
Registration is now open for the
National Duathlon Championships
to be held in Richmond, VA
April 26th-27th.  This is the
short course championships
(10K/40K/5K)
with the top 7 in each age-group
qualifying for the
World Duathlon Champs which
will be held in Italy this September.
Also of note, long course
Nationals will be held May 18th
in Auburn, CA!

We saw some solid performances from
BP
athletes this morning at the Mardi Gras
Marathon and 1/2 Marathon.
Brendan Minihan finished 3rd OA
in the marathon with a time
of 2:36:08...John Storment
ran a gutsy race to finish in
a time of 3:27:33, while
Tiffany Lindstrom finished 22nd OA and
6th in her age group running
the 1/2 in a PR of 1:36:45.
Also, PR's were set by Renee and Emily
in the 1/2 marathon!
What a beautiful day to be running!

Marathon fever...catch it!
Just a few notes about some of
our favorite marathons and 1/2's for 2008.
Grandma's Marathon registration is now
open, and only available online.  As
of this morning there were only 1800
spots available.  
The Gary Bjorklund 1/2 Marathon
registration opens
online February 20th...
Registration for the
Cellcom
Green Bay Marathon
is NOW OPEN!
...also of note, registration for the
Chicago Marathon is now open as well!
Always a favorite of ours, Chicago has
an entry limit of 45,000 and
will fill early!

Securian 1/2 Marathon held
in downtown St. Paul, MN.

So many results...
so little time...
First, congratulations to those of you
who ran in Arizona at the
Rock N Roll Marathon and 1/2.
BP'r Christine Arndt ran a GREAT race
and qualified for Boston in a time of
3:20:37, while Karen Dodson, running her
first ever road-race, ran a
very impressive 1/2 Marathon!   
Also, a big shout-out  to
Chuck, Shannon, Mike, Emily, Nick,
Lisa, Lisa and Mary!

Chevron Houston Marathon.
John Storment ran a solid 3:24
while Rob Ginnow finished strong in a
time of 3:47:10...
Nice job boys!
HOUSTON RESULTS

...also, what a finish for Jason Lehmkuhle
in the 1/2 Marathon in Houston.  
Jason, the 5th place finisher at the
US Olympic Marathon Trials held
in November and a former Gear/Nike
teammate of mine,
finished 2nd overall in a time of 1:02:32.

of Prairiesville, LA won the Master's
division of the
Lamar Dixon 5K
held this past weekend in Gonzales, LA.

Congratulations to
BP athlete
Brendon O'Flanagan for his win this
morning in White Bear Lake, MN
at the Resolution Solution 5K.
With an air temperature of 2 degrees
and the windchill temp. hovering
around -20 degrees, Brendon used a
strong kick over the last 300 meters to
win by 2 seconds in a time of 18:08.
First win of the year for Brendon and
BP!
