Beyond Performance has a unique three-fold process which was inspired by the story of Nehemiah rebuilding the city of Jerusalem (Nehemiah: 1:3-4:18).  His mission was to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem, but the work they shared united them not only as a city but also as a community. The work restored the walls, and the fight restored the people’s hearts and identity as the family of God.

The account of Nehemiah gives us a model of the process of physical restoration, spiritual restoration, and spiritual transformation of our hearts. Mirroring this story Beyond Performance’s programming models this process transforming lives physically and relationally through strength training, nutrition, and the outdoors.

Our Story

OUR MODEL

Much like a triangle is one of the strongest geometrical shapes with its three sides, Proverbs also tells us that a cord of three is not easily broken. Real camaraderie, shared life, and God at the center brings about healing and transformation. The intertwining of the three triangles which form our icon and represent our mission to transform lives physically and relationally through strength training, nutrition, and the outdoors. These models create the framework through which scripture can be applied and integrated into our lives. The liturgy we observe in the life of Jesus can be applied to the liturgy of our lives as conviction, connection, and commission. The process behind the programs of Beyond Performance follows Nehemiah’s processes of Physical Construction and Spiritual Restoration, and the process of Spiritual Transformation. In each of our programs, we create an opportunity for conviction, connection, and commission in hopes of leading others into renewal and transformation.
